Critical Analysis on Malaysian Flight 370

A more recent and common topic on the news lately is that of the missing Malaysian flight 370. Even after weeks of searching, there has been no conclusive evidence of where the flight is or what exactly caused it. On the internet there have been many speculations of the location and possible causes but many were proved invalid. This investigation has already had some invalid information that was thought to be real. Tracking these articles starting from the investigation can lead to an accurate timeline of information.

The first article, “Real-time flight trackers seek missing Malaysian Flight 370, find only holes,” was published during the beginning of the investigation. It gave information on how the plane was tracked to be heading toward Vietnam, but the tracking equipment on the plane were turned off. The article states that this had been the only given true information of the missing plane. The second article, “Timing of Report by Flight’s Pilot Focuses Inquiry,” was published about a week ago, when large and invalid speculations were occurring. This article was true, it was stated that the pilots of the plane shut off the tracking equipment before saying, “All right, good night.” Perhaps this clues that the pilots were in on the disappearance of the plane. If the tracking equipment were turned off, they would have known that it was, and maybe they would have sounded distressed. But the only line that came that came out of the pilot was, “All right, good night,” in no way distressed. The third and most recent article called, “Help from above: satellite signals can confirm a plane’s identity,” was published about three days ago and states that satellites can help on the discovery of this missing flight. Every plane that passes the satellite is held to a certain id number where the satellite can track. The only difficult part is that rewinding the past id number traces will disrupt any current ones.

Even in the most technological era in history, the whole world can’t find one flight. I believed that with our advanced equipment, we could trace this flight. But through reading many articles and by watching programs specified on this topic, it is actually harder than I thought, a LOT harder. With the possible calculated area that the plane could have traveled or gone to, trying to find this one flight in this vast area, is like trying to find one person in the whole United States. This exact situation makes me speculate the most superficial ideas of where this plane could be. I actually still think that aliens or some space related thing caused this, yeah I know pretty superficial thinking, I know! But it’s my instinct to speculate what could have happened.
